Few people in Kenya own a book. One small paperback book can cost an entire week's wages. Print material is cherished, shared and read multiple times. Expanding Opportunities distributes new and used books, medical supplies and educational materials to schools, libraries, hospitals, clinics and churches as often as possible.

| A donor gave funds specifically for the purchase and distribution of Bibles in Kiswahili. Pastor Waweru is shepherding 6 churches so the 22 Bibles were distributed proportionately to members of his 6 churches. | Members of each congregation who wanted a Bible and felt they could not afford one were asked to come forward. Each congregation voted on the individuals to receive the limited supply of Bibles. |

There was a great deal of tension as the recipients were selected. The young mother in this photo was not selected to receive the Bible. But their very poor congregation immediately took up a collection and a member was assigned to purchase a Bible for her. |
This gentleman was selected from his congregation to receive a Bible. He accepted it with honor and gratitude. |
